Maine State Police Dog Receives Protective Gear Through Generous Donation

Maine State Police dog will receive bulletproof and stabbing vest thanks to the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

MAINE, USA – A Maine State Police dog named Dallas will receive protective gear through a generous donation.

State Police shared the news in a Facebook post on Friday, claiming Dallas would receive a bulletproof and stabbing vest thanks to the nonprofit. Acquired interest in K9s, Inc.

Vested Interest in K9s is a charity founded in 2009, located in East Taunton, Massachusetts. Its mission is to provide protective vests and other forms of assistance to law enforcement dogs and associated agencies across the United States.

It costs $ 950 to provide a protective vest for a police dog. So far, the association says it has donated more than 3,500 personalized protective vests.

The Dallas vest will arrive in approximately 10 weeks and is sponsored by a fundraiser hosted by the Waterville Elks Lodge.

The vest will be embroidered in honor of the group, with the phrase: “Offered by Waterville Elks Lodge # 905 BPOE.
