VIDEO: Mike Norvell happy with intensity in first shoulder pad training

Florida State Football first threw paddles today on day three of fall practice. It was only shoulder pads, but Mike Norvell was happy with the intensity of his players when he spoke to the media after practice. “I thought it was a good day. First day in stem, to be able to put on the epaulets. The guys had good intensity. I’m just trying to teach some of the new guys from second practice the expectation of how we practice.

One of the shift groups that Norvell was most satisfied with was Room QB. Commenting on the quarterback performance, Norvell said, “I’m happy. I think the two youngsters, Chubba and Tate, throw the ball extremely well. I am really excited by what I see from them. McKenzie and Jordan, their confidence and understanding of what we’re asking them to do is really high. I am excited about the group.

The Seminoles are expected to have plenty of new faces in 2021, one of the most important being wide receiver Andrew Parchment. Norvell, a former college receiver, was excited about the potential of the Kansas transfer. “In fact, I was very happy with him… we try to help him with every detail of his game that will allow him to play with the abilities that I think he has. He showed up in three days and we’re really excited to have him, ”said Norvell.

Another newcomer who should make a difference is defensive back Jammie Robinson. Robinson was all over the field early this fall. Norvell said: “Jammie has been very consistent over the past three days. He’s a very versatile player. I really like what he did. He makes plays on the ball and does a good job whenever he gets a chance to make a play in the running game or on the perimeter.
